Diogo Zota’s ankle injury in the game ruled him out of the upcoming Premier League game against Norwich and the Liverpool striker made a road race to be ready for the League Cup final against Chelsea.

Liverpool clinched a great win 2-0 in Meazza on Wednesday night against Inter that puts them in the embrace with qualification to the top 8 teams of the Champions League and sends their fans into euphoria, but there was one event that Jurgen Klopp made cloudy.

Diogo Zota’s injury forced him into a substitution early in the second half, replacing Firmino, with the German explaining after the game that the Portuguese’s ankle was swollen and the Reds didn’t want to take the slightest risk.

A move that turned out to be wise as Mirror journalist David Maddock explained that his ankle injury was more serious than initially thought and that he would be a 100% loss to Norwich in the next league game.

“However, Liverpool have not written him off from the League Cup final against Chelsea and will pursue a recovery program in preparation for the game at Wembley on 27 February.” says the reporter about Zotas.
