West Ham – Newcastle 1-1: Standing Buzzards in London
Newcastle continued their upward trend in the 26th game of the Premier League, with Eddie Howe’s side leaving London with a point against West Ham and taking another step to avoid relegation.
Newcastle left the English capital on Saturday afternoon with a valuable point in the fight for the extension of the Premier League ticket and the new season as Eddie Howie’s team lost 1-1 to West Ham at the Olympic Stadium in London.
This was the fifth consecutive league game for the unbeaten Buzzards (3 wins – 2 draws in that span), while Moges’ side drew 1-1 for the second consecutive year after that at Leicester headquarters, losing significant ground in the Race for 4th place in the new Champions League.
The match was quite balanced, the guests scored even better and were rewarded with applause from their fans in the final, at a time when Hammerwelt was complaining about the performance of its own team.
The hosts were indeed the ones who went ahead with a header from Dawson, who scored for the second consecutive time (he had handed the team the result by beating Leicester 2-2 in the final), with Newcastle still on Punkt took the lead with his place Willock scoring a goal after goal-line technology showed the ball had crossed the entire finish line before moving away from Fabianski.
