Eriksen: “I’m training hard but I didn’t expect to be as good as I feel now”
Christian Eriksen is already counting on his return to action having already played two friendlies against Brentford. The Dane claims he’s surprised himself at how his body has reacted to playing football again.
Christian Eriksen’s heart attack last summer during Denmark’s match against Finland at Euro 2020 was one of the most shocking moments of the past year for world football and the Dane got the whole world to tune in and pray for him.
In the end, not only did he emerge victorious from the biggest fight he has faced in his 30-year life, but he is now poised to celebrate triumph by returning to the professional level.
He will do so via Brentford, who has signed a contract with him, with the former Ajax, Tottenham and Inter midfielder providing excellent writing samples and making no secret of his enthusiasm in the two friendlies he took part in with the new Premier League midfielder Has. in front of the camera:
“I feel very good. Last week’s game against Southend was a tough test but I’m happy to be here. I feel in a nice place, which is the most important thing.
“I’m surprised at how my body has reacted because I’m training hard, but I didn’t expect to be as good as I’m feeling right now.”stressed Eriksen in the Brentford channel after Monday’s 2-2 draw at Rangers, where he played for his team and made the same number of assists from static phases (corners and fouls) in the 80 minutes in which he participated .
And complete with meaning: “I have the same enthusiasm and love for touching the ball as I have in the past. I’ve been waiting for this for months and being part of the team’s activities is something that gives me pleasure and relief.”
