War in Ukraine: A Russian Everton sponsor’s accounts have been frozen
The European Union (EU) has frozen the accounts of other Russian billionaires, including Everton sponsor Alisher Usmanov.
Sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine continue, and the European Union has targeted Russian oligarchs.
In connection with this, some of them, like Alisner Usmanov, had their accounts frozen. The Russian tycoon and one of Putin’s closest associates were faced with frozen accounts following a decision.
Usmanov, through his company, is the main sponsor of the Everton training center while retaining a majority stake in the club’s main sponsor of the women’s football team.
We remind you that Usmanov is a close friend of the club’s owner Farhad Mosiri.
