It hasn’t happened again! Liverpool humiliated Manchester United at Anfield at seven

Liverpool equalized Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield with Kody Hakpo, Darwin Nunes and Mohamed Salah as the protagonists, closing the gap between the two teams to seven points after the 26th Premier League match day.

Defying both Manchester United’s form and their own, Liverpool scored their greatest derby win at Anfield.

The 7-0 on matchday 26 of the Premier League not only reduced the gap between the two teams to seven points, it probably also changed the dynamic, the “Reds” now have the top 4 on the horizon and see Cody Hakpo (two goals ), Darwin Nunes (two goals) and Mohamed Salah (two goals and one assist) in a demonic state.

The game started with a different picture as the visitors (for the first time in four straight games at Old Trafford or on neutral ground) chose a fast tempo rather than defending.

Liverpool followed suit and after a first-quarter scout, threats began on both sides. Those of the home side turned into misses, those of United into threatening positions in the opposing area, which mostly did not lead to a final effort. Except for a header from Bruno Fernandes, which went wide.

The dance of goals began in the 43rd minute after a vertical shot from Andy Robertson (who left Kostas Tsimika back on the bench) at Hakpo, who dodged an opponent and scored from close range to make it 1-0.

The break instruction only worked for one team, which was the only one to come out of the 2nd half kick-off. In the 47th minute Núñez made it 2-0 with a tight header and in the 50th minute Salah overpowered Lisandro Martins to make it 3-0 for Hakpo.

Erik ten Hach corrected his mistake of putting Vout Vehorst in the middle and replaced him with Alejandro Garnazzo, which also brought Scott McTominay into play. No problem for Jürgen Klopp’s players, who were not spared at some point in the game and even coped with the hard markings of the irritated guests.

In the 66th minute, it was Salah’s turn to find his way to the net and Nunes’ one-two followed shortly afterwards. The 5-0 was accompanied by three substitutions for Klopp and two for Ten Haag, but the game wasn’t over yet. Salah wasn’t the one to say the last word either, although he made it 6-0 in the 83rd minute and became the ‘Reds’ top scorer in the Premier League with 129 goals (with Robbie Fowler trailing behind on 128) . .

Roberto Firmino was expected to win 7-0 in his last game against United to seal Liverpool’s biggest derby win.
