Liverpool prodigy Michael Owen has argued that no Reds player has “reason” to leave the club as he is football’s top target at the moment.

Michael Owen joined Liverpool Academies in 1991 and became a first-team player in 1996. In his first full season in 1997-98, he was named the Premier League’s top scorer and best young player.

The Reds prodigy, who left Old Trafford for Real in 2004, spoke to GOAL about the current situation of Jürgen Klopp’s side and described them as a top football destination.

Asked about Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino, whose contracts expire at the end of the season, he stressed that he would be surprised if either of them left.

I’ll be very surprised if anyone leaves. Liverpool built the future, yes, but the here and now is even more important.

You can plan for the future and think about the next three or four years, but all of a sudden you’re not winning anything and those players you’re planning for the future with turn out to be not so good. “There is a balance and it seems Liverpool are getting it right.” initially claimed the 42-year-old Englishman.

“As for Firmino and Salah, I would honestly be surprised if either of them left. Football is always changing but Liverpool is the destination for top players at the moment. I don’t understand why or how anyone would leave.”

where can you go Which one is better? You can side with, yes, someone like Manchester City, but Liverpool wouldn’t sell you and why would you want to tarnish your reputation anyway?

Barcelona and Real Madrid are not what they were when I had to make a decision all those years ago. Liverpool are different these days, they can lure whoever they want and whoever’s there, the club hold all the trump cards. “I’d be surprised if anyone left this summer.”
