The Premier League has decided to stop broadcasting statements of solidarity to Ukraine, which is why the league games will be broadcast in China again.

Premier League games are back to normal broadcasts in China after the program stalled last week. The holder of the rights in the Asian country, the company iQiyi, based on the messages of support from the organizing authority in Ukraine, did not broadcast matches from the previous game, which will not happen again.

The Chinese company considered the appearance of the Ukrainian flag on the video walls of the stadiums and the presence of various messages in favor of Ukraine in the image broadcast by the Premier League to broadcast the matches as a political stance.

In the four-hour meeting on Tuesday, the 20 clubs decided, among other things, not to spread any further such expressions of solidarity in Ukraine after the four games that were postponed on Thursday.

At the same meeting, the Premier League decided to stop broadcasting games in Russia in retaliation for their invasion of Ukraine.

The Premier League deal with iQiyi went into effect last August and runs through the 2024-2025 season, bringing a total of €142,000,000 to the teams’ coffers.
