Chelsea players seek contract termination in case of financial crash
According to a report in the English “Telegraph”, the Chelsea players want to terminate their contracts with the Londoners if there is a financial Armageddon in the team as a result of the sanctions against Abramovich and the bank account freeze.
Chelsea are going through one of the most difficult times in their history after the UK government imposed sanctions on Roman Abramovich.
According to a new publication by Telepraph, Chelsea players are already checking with their agendas and lawyers the terms of being able to terminate their contracts without consequences.
The article states that if financial Armageddon comes to the Londoners, after what has already been imposed on the team, some lawyers have already been beaten by players’ representatives. The case is being monitored by teams that may benefit from this situation.
Chelsea’s financial troubles are likely to erupt immediately as the company’s cash reserves cannot cover their €28m monthly salaries.
According to the lawyers, the players only need two months to go unpaid before they can request their release. Of course, the special circumstances that prevail in the team due to Abramovich and the war in Ukraine can change simply with a legal battle.
A loan agreement that would temporarily solve the European champion’s problems is currently difficult, as the Londoners’ bank account at Barclays is frozen.
