Athletic: “Chelsea sale process progressing, developments within 4-6 weeks”
According to Athletic, the government gave the American bank Raine the green light to sell Chelsea and allow talks to pick up where they left off when the sanctions were imposed on Abramovich. Optimism that there will be an agreement within four to six weeks.
The streak on Chelsea’s future is very likely to have a happy ending as the UK government gave the green light to proceed with the sale of Roman Abramovich’s team, Athletic report.
According to the report, talks between the government and Raine, an American bank handling the sale of Chelsea, had a happy ending and the process is continuing where it was before the sanctions against Abramovich.
In addition, there is optimism that the Blues’ takeover is expected to happen within four to six weeks, as some serious interests have been expressed by entrepreneurs and business groups, but no proposal so far.
Chelsea’s sale is expected to go ahead if Abramovich proves he won’t make a profit from the Chelsea transfer. However, he had said in his announcement that he would not take the credits he gave the team.
