Lukaku throws away his case to return to Inter
The forthcoming changes in Chelsea’s ownership status bring Romelu Lukaku closer to the exit door, with Gazzetta dello Sport revealing the Belgian has dealt a fresh blow to Inter’s management for a return.
Developments in Chelsea have been rapid for the past 24 hours or so and it is certain the Blues will find them without Roman Abramovich at the helm the next day, with the British government imposing heavy sanctions on the Russian tycoon, effectively removing him from the frame. The Londoners are now committed to launching the club’s sale process.
At the moment Chelsea cannot buy, sell or sign players, but it is a given that the change of hands will see all of the above bans lifted and it is taken for granted that many players from the squad will seek their fortunes outside of ‘Stamford Bridge “.
One of them is Romelu Lukaku, the player Chelsea spent the staggering €115m to sign from Inter last summer, with the Belgium international not the least bit ‘stuck’ with Thomas Tuchel and Heaven and Earth has moved for months to return to Milan.
According to today’s (3.12.) Gazzetta dello Sport article, Loukakou has been contacting inter-administration people these days and made it clear to them that he is ready to cut his income in order to return.
The same outlet stresses that while the situation in Chelsea creates better conditions for this deal to go through, the sale of the Londoners must first be finalized and, on the other hand, an agreement must be reached between the two teams on a loan once champions Italy arrive can’t afford to buy it.
