Conte: ‘There is one truth at the moment, I’m tied to Tottenham for another year’
Antonio Conte publicly expressed for the first time his desire to sit on the bench at Tottenham for the new season, stressing that a necessary condition is his vision for the team to identify with that of the president.
Shaking hands with Tottenham last November, Antonio Conte signed a contract until the summer of 2023, with the option to extend the partnership if mood is right on both sides.
However, that schedule appears to have been shelved prematurely considering the Italian has made a number of comments of late suggesting he could cede Spurs’ technical lead in this season’s final.
The statements came after poor results in the Premier League and in an attempt by him to both shake up his players and send a message to managers that they need significant additions to the squad to become competitive and lift trophies.

“What is certain is that at the moment there is only one truth, I am committed to this club for another year. The club wanted something like that and I accepted it because it was good for one side to know the other.
After four months I think the club has understood how I want to work and how I perceive the club. We still have three months until the end of the season to further improve our knowledge of each other and then find the best solution for both of us.”Antonio Conte pointed out to add:
“I can assure you that I love working for this club and want to fight with them for something important. I want to fight for the future, fight to be competitive, fight to win and not just 4th place too place in the Premier League because, I repeat, that’s not my aim.
My goal is to be competitive and fight for victory. This is what I want and I know that my heart, soul and mind want those very things. I hope to be able to keep up with the club in that regard.”

After 13 months of negotiations, Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquired 25% of Manchester United’s shares for £1.25 billion (€1.44 billion).
The British billionaire will take charge of the club’s football operations and says he will invest 272 million euros ($300 million) in Old Trafford. At the same time, he made a proposal to acquire a further share of the shares (up to 25%).
In order for the deal to be finalized and formally concluded, it must be approved by all bodies, including the Premier League, as is the case with such deals.

One step away from finalizing an agreement with River Plate is Manchester City, where they are finalizing a deal to acquire 17-year-old Argentina’s next big thing, Claudio Etcheverry, for over €20 million.
Manchester City are investing in young talent and want to do so again like they did with Julián Alvarez. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Citizens have reached an agreement with River Plate to acquire the 17-year-old Claudio Etcheveri.
The world champion will pay the clause in his contract Argentina’s next big thing, which amounts to over 20 million euros.
The two sides are in the final stages of concluding the contract, after which Mr Etceveri will remain on loan at River until the end of the season, when his contract with the club will expire.
Etcheverry shone for Argentina at the U17 World Cup, scoring a hat-trick against Brazil in the quarter-finals.
