Former Liverpool president and declared Chelsea friend Martin Broughton is interested in acquiring a majority stake in Roman Abramovich’s ‘Blues’.

74-year-old English businessman Sir Martin Broughton has been added to the list of potential Chelsea buyers following recent developments with Roman Abramovich, English broadcaster Sky reported.

Broughton has entered into talks with other businessmen to support his proposal to buy the “blues” with the blessing of the UK government.

Naturally, according to the same post, Broughton was the “channel of communication” for the proposals from LA Dodgers baseball team co-owner Todd Bell and Philadelphia Sixers shareholder Josh Harris, taking on the role on the team’s next day if either of those proposals are accepted .

The former British Airways President is a committed Chelsea supporter having been Liverpool President in the past. He even managed to save the Reds from bankruptcy in a legal battle in 2010 while we were overseeing the transfer of Liverpool to the current owners.
