The game
Antonio Conte’s players came very close to leading in the score. Spain goalkeeper Robert Sanchez made the mistake, Kane failed from a lateral position.
Brighton tried to take the lead and achieved it in an unorthodox way when, at a strange stage, Bentancourt tried to clear the ball several yards from the box but sent it just over Loris’ goal.
The Londoners took the lead in the 37th minute. After a nice exchange of the ball to the level of Sanchez’s penalty area, Kulusewski fired the shot, the ball found Romero, changed its trajectory and landed in the net.
In the second half, the Londoners found the historic goal with Harry Kane and were able to clear the threesome. Graham Potter’s team failed to threaten Loris’ house sufficiently in the second half.
Tottenham climbed up to seventh place with 48 points with the result, while Brighton are 13th to 33rd and well clear of the relegation zone.
