Jürgen Klopp was quite “level-headed” in his statements after Liverpool’s win against Arsenal and reduced the gap to one point on Manchester City and emphasized that they are still second.

Liverpool clinched a crucial victory in the Premier League battle, beating Arsenal 2-0 in the Emirates and closing a point behind champions Manchester City.

The Reds took advantage of the Citizens’ draw against Crystal Palace and now made a dangerous move towards Pep Guardiola’s team. At the same time, Jurgen Klopp is trying to contain his excitement with nine games remaining.

Apart from that, however, the German coach clarified that although they are at -1, they are still second.

“We’re a point behind but it’s still the same. We have to win the games. Then we face City and then everyone else. Hopefully all the players will be fit again after the international appearances (in March).

Do you think anyone will say 10 years from now that you should be proud that you came second? Probably not.

“I’m really interested in how we can prepare for the next game. It’s so difficult – I think we’ve reached 13 games since we played Arsenal in the Carabao Cup in January. For them it’s seven – that are six more “games for us. We don’t complain about it, we wanted it that way. Let’s see how it goes.”
