Aethel Partners added five more business ventures to Chelsea’s potential buyers

So far, five corporate groups and buyers have submitted proposals to acquire a controlling interest in Chelsea, and London-based Aethel Partners has been added to the list.

Chelsea’s sale process is progressing rapidly as the UK government has allowed the west London team to proceed with ownership change procedures following the sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovich.

According to Reuters, five corporate groups and buyers have so far submitted proposals to acquire a controlling stake in the blue, and London-based Aethel Partners has been added to the list. According to Goal reporter Nizar Kinsella, the Aethel partners have made a €2.3 billion offer, with a direct €50 million offer for immediate funding.

The other five confirmed proposals for the Chelsea takeover

Muhsin Bayrak: Turkish businessman expresses desire to bid for Chelsea. Bayrak said he has $11 billion in cash and can borrow if he needs more money to buy.

Sebastian Coe: The World Athletics Federation president has joined a consortium that also includes former Liverpool president Martin Broughton, who is hoping to buy Chelsea.

“I am convinced that Sir Martin is the right man to lead Chelsea into its next chapter,” Coe told British media. Broughton was a former Liverpool president but a well-known Londoner fan.

Nick Candy: The British property builder, a Chelsea fan since childhood, has revealed he is interested in an offer for the club.

Sky News reported that a key part of the Candy proposal is the intention to offer fans a seat on the board. Candy is in talks with fundraisers to bid on his offer before the deadline later this week.

It will also offer short-term financing should Chelsea face a liquidity crisis, he added. He works with former Chelsea player and coach Gianluca Viali.

Hanjork Weiss: The Swiss tycoon is interested in a takeover of Chelsea, Swiss newspaper Blick reported. In a video on her website, Blick said that Weiss “remains interested despite the new circumstances,” which temporarily poses obstacles to the initiation of proceedings.

The Ricketts family and Ken GriffinThe US baseball team’s Chicago Camps owners, the Rickets family, have partnered with Citadel founder Ken Griffin to work on an offer to buy Chelsea, a Griffin spokesman said. They have set up an investment group that will make an official bid for the London club tomorrow Friday.
