The government plans to allow Chelsea to sell tickets
According to the Times, UK government officials are discussing a plan that would allow Chelsea to sell regular tickets to FA Cup and Champions League games, with proceeds going to a “frozen” account.
The sanctions imposed by the UK government on former Chelsea president Roman Abramovich have serious consequences for the English club itself.
One of the consequences for the team was the inability to sell tickets for its home games, with access to the stadium being restricted to season holders only.
As a result, the Blues will not be able to have the world on their side in the English Cup, nor in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they meet Real.
However, this situation may change. According to the Times, government officials are particularly considering a plan that would allow the Londoners’ friends to watch their team play.
This will happen with the establishment of an independent ticketing agency, with proceeds from sales going to a ‘frozen’ account that will belong to the club’s new owners.
We remind you that Chelsea are not allowed to use the club’s income, including the sale of tickets.
