According to Athletic, two other candidates to take over Chelsea have been sidelined by the groom.

According to Athletic, two other Chelsea owner candidates have been withdrawn from the competition.

English manufacturer Nick Candy and American businessman Woody Johnson are not on the final list prepared by the New York banking firm Raine Group on behalf of the Blues.

Candy had declared himself a Chelsea fan and claimed he would help financially before the proceedings are finalized. However, he was reportedly told he would not be on the final list.

Johnson, whose great-grandfather founded the giant Johnson & Johnson, was also interested in the club, although he already owns the NFL New York Jets but also failed to qualify for the Finals.

It notes that Saudi Media was “cut out” from the final selection, while Turkish businessman Muhsin Bayrak and London-based investors Aethel Partners made no proposal and therefore never had any hope of claiming the shares.

The consortium of the American Todd Boelli with the Swiss Hansjorg Weiss, the English lawyer Jonathan Goldstein and the American investment company Clearlake are said to be involved in the deal, which can reach 2,700,000,000 euros.

Crystal Palace co-owners David Blitzer and Josh Harris, who also have interests in other sports teams, have joined forces with Martin Broughton and are said to remain in the running.

The same goes for the Ricketts family, who spent a month igniting Chelsea’s friends over anti-Muslim racist remarks made by the family’s patriarch Joe Ricketts.
