Manchester City’s Spanish stopper Emerick Laport threw the gauntlet at Liverpool just before the two teams entered the final straight to clinch the Premier League title while also dedicating a caustic attack to United.

After the “pause” in the championships due to the national teams’ competitive commitments (for World Cup qualifiers), the action returns from this weekend and one of the teams that has a mountain to climb in terms of high-level games , this is undeniably Manchester City.

The English champions are set to face Liverpool twice (for the Premier League semi-finals and FA Cup) and as many times as Atletico (for the Champions League quarter-finals) in just 12 days, with Emeric Laporta still ready to take on the challenge an interview with the Daily Mail.

“It’s a nice challenge, but for me it’s something more. We see it as an opportunity to show that we are better than the other teams.

We’re not jealous of Liverpool. I think the football that City plays, there is no other team in the world that plays it. We make mistakes just like everyone else.

But I think that in Liverpool they even want to play a part of our game.among other things, emphasized the 27-year-old Spanish international and added:

“People think it’s absurd to keep winning. If I’m not wrong, we’ve won 11 trophies in four years and that can make some people angry, like our neighbors United, who haven’t won a trophy in that time .”

It’s also a team with many supporters and we’re in the same city. They spent a lot of money and the fact that they didn’t win anything makes sense that they would be upset.

But everyone defends the interests of their own team. “I trust City and I hope we win several trophies in the final this year.”

When asked if there’s anything Liverpool have that City would like more of, Laport replied disarmingly: “To use the chances a bit more and to exploit the mistakes of the opponents, because often we have the opportunity and don’t take it.”
