Rooney: ‘United must continue without Ronaldo – Pogba’
Wayne Rooney said that Manchester United should start the new season without Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba, the first because yes they offer a lot of goals, but the Red Devils need freshness, while the French midfielder is another player of the France national team and a other with United.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Wayne Rooney referenced Manchester United and the latest developments at the team in terms of squad formation and the new manager.
The current derby manager and former Red Devils forward said that the team should continue without Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba as they don’t help the team at all, while he stated between Eric Ten Hach and Mauricio Pochettino that he wants to take over the team the Argentine coach because he has experience from the Premier League
Details of what Wayne Rooney said: “I think they want the season to end here. Forget the Champions League, United won’t be competitive even if they qualify this year.
He has to do without Ronaldo and Pogba. Cristiano is a constant goal threat for any opponent but United need more in the rest of the game, they need young and ‘hungry’ players.
Pogba has reached a point where it’s best to move on. If Paul is honest with himself, he knows he probably hasn’t had the impact he would have liked since returning to Manchester United..
I see him with France and he’s a completely different player. The skill, vision and control of the game are always there for France. Things haven’t gone well for him at United and there are a number of players he needs to leave.
If I have to choose between Pochettino and Ten Hague, I’ll choose Pochettino and give him time to create. “There is no post-Sir Alex Ferguson coach there so I think anyone who comes should give them time to build relationships with players.”.
