Manchester United on Anthony: ‘We take the matter seriously and will have no further comment’
Manchester United have released a statement on the charges against their player Anthony for allegedly molesting his ex-partner.
Manchester United footballer Anthony has been accused of domestic violence, threats and even assault by his ex-partner in Brazil.
The 23-year-old winger has been banned by the Brazilian Football Confederation for his country’s World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Bolivia on charges of allegedly attacking Gabriela Cavallin.
Although he came out publicly and denied all allegations against him, his team issued a statement on the matter.
Manchester United acknowledge the allegations against Anthony and say the police are investigating. “Until further information is available, the club will not make any further comment. As a club, we take this matter very seriously given the impact these allegations and subsequent complaints will have on those who have experienced abuse.”
