Brighton shock Arsenal, Chelsea at St Marys
Brighton edged Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates and gave the Gunners knives to reach the Champions League. Six goals for Chelsea at Southampton, three for Leeds at home against Watford.
Arsenal suffered a shock defeat on Saturday in an attempt to finish fourth in the Premier League, which is their final ticket to qualifying for the new season’s Champions League. Brighton edged Emirates 3-1 with a three-pointer. . . Chelsea broke out with six goals at Southampton after the grueling defeat by Real in the Champions League, a triumph for Leeds at Vicarage Road where they rewarded Watford with three goals.
Second accident for Arsenal
Arsenal have been great in 2022 and thanks to an impressive demarcation (with five straight away wins) they climbed to 4th place which secures a spot in the new Champions League but this week shows they are ready to put in a strong kick and to pour the Kardara with the milk he had collected for so long.
And that’s because after last Monday’s 3-0 mini-London derby smash at Crystal Palace headquarters, a new slap has come, this time from Brighton, as Graham Potter’s side have lost six and drawn one has come down the turf of the Emirates in their last seven league games but returns to impressive form in the final.
Trossar executed in the 29th minute with an incredible shot from the height of the penalty Ramsdale gave the Seagulls the lead in their first big phase of the game, with Arsenal on target in the delays of the first part but that didn’t count after using the VAR (Martinelli offside) and a free kick at 66′.
That came from the 2-0, scored by Emoupou with a powerful shot from wide of the box, but Artetas’ players (they also had a double-shot phase from Smith-Row and Enketia) exerting suffocating pressure in the last ten minutes only to find the consolation goal in 89′ with Edegaard.
It is characteristic that at 90+5′ they had a huge chance to make it 2-2 and partially saved the game, but Sanchez jumped spectacularly and saved Enketia’s head in a corner, keeping his team’s great success in London.

Chelsea knocked out all the broken ones at Southampton
After losing 3-1 at home to Real in the first quarter-finals of the Champions League, Chelsea needed a result answer, and it came in the most emphatic way. Southampton also contributed to this, as not only could they not resist the wild whims of Tuhel’s players, but they also turned into a punching bag.
The game was evaluated in the first 31 minutes, in which the European champions found four goals with four different goal scorers and even had three shots on target from Timo Werner, which failed on the crossbar.
As for the second half, Werner and Mount’s score had been shot down to 6-0 by 55 minutes, with the Blues keeping their foot off the accelerator at that point, allowing the hosts to be relieved of the fact that the nightmare was doing them not get any bigger.
SOUTHAMPTON: Forster, Livramento (73′ Smallbown), Bendnarek, Salisou, Walker-Peters, Ward-Prous, Romeu (36′ Valerie), Stuart Armstrong, Eliunusi, Adam Armstrong (46′)
CHELSEA: Medi, Christensen, Thiago Silva (James 63), Riediger, Loftus-Chick, Cande, Kovacic, Alonso, Mount (Zigzag 69), Werder, Haverts (Pulisik 46)
