Klopp: “They don’t care, they lined up a team on Saturday after the Champions League semi-final at 12.30pm”
Jurgen Klopp broke out against the Premier League and the BT channel, who scheduled the game against Newcastle at 12:30am on Saturday, while he will have played for the Champions League semi-finals mid-week if he rules out Benfica.
In the press conference, Jurgen Klopp expressed his frustration at the tough program Liverpool face in the near future given their rematch with Benfica for the Champions League quarter-finals.
In particular, he referred to the definition of the match with Newcastle on April 30 (12:30pm UK time, 14:30pm Greek time) for the Premier League, while he will give a game for the Champions League semi-finals in mid-week, if he overcomes the obstacle of the Lusitanians.
“Now I’m only interested in Benfica. After Saturday’s game with City. United, Everton and maybe semi-finals follow. BT (the channel broadcasting the game against Newcastle) and the Premier League connected us to Newcastle on Saturday at 12:30pm (30/04) after the Champions League semi final. Only in England would this happen, they don’t care at all.
It’s incredible. We played against City, a difficult game, how could I think of other tournaments? We’re playing with Benfica, I can’t imagine anything else. We’re just trying to reach the last, last crucial step“.
