Nottingham 1-1 Brentford: Dominguez maintains the 10-man squad

Brentford took the lead with one man on the pitch in the 58th minute at the City Ground, but Nottingham didn’t give up and hit back to secure the point that kept them ahead of their rivals.

Nottingham came into the City Ground with just one win (aside from Chelsea) in their last five Premier League games and Brentford without a hat-trick in their last four league games. The two teams were cautious, composed and conservative and the draw fatally came in the context of matchday 7.

He even scored as the Londoners took the lead through Nergaard’s header in the 58th minute and the Reds responded through Dominguez in the 65th minute, with the 1-1 final making the home team happier as they were forced to keep up 10 men to play from the 56th minute due to Niakate’s sending off.

The match

Nottingham Forest were furious in the opening minutes but were unable to convert their attacking spirit into a clear-cut chance. Brentford equalized and in the finale of the first half the managers, but especially the people of both teams, were disappointed.

Look at the poor statistics: The Reds and Bees each had three final tries (0-1 at home) and the game at the City Ground is now the game with the fewest first-half finals in this year’s Premier League.

The situation changed in the second half and the 56th minute played a decisive role when Niakate received a second yellow card for a foul on Wissa and was sent off, while Brentford exploited their numerical advantage with… good ones Tomorrow, after Jensen’s foul in the 58th minute, Nergaard was thrown and headed in to make it 1-0.

In the 60th minute Steve Cooper took his first steps off the bench, with Tofolo and Gibbs-White replacing Hudson-Ondoi and Elanga and they took their place, with Tofolo curling in a lovely cross from the left in the 65th minute and Dominguez beating Turner with a breathtaking header.

This goal was Nottingham’s only attempt at scoring in the second half and just one of three in that period, with the Londoners for their part enjoying almost 70% possession and a double-figure number of finals (13, 4 away) as they were not in unable to score, they settled for a draw and fell one point behind their opponents.
