Liverpool 4-0 Manchester United: Impressive win and Reds first
Liverpool, with Mohamed Salah scoring two goals and having an assist, beat Manchester United 4-0 and moved up to first place in the Premier League, with +2 from Manchester City but with one more game to play.
A commanding and impressive 4-0 win over Manchester United on Tuesday evening (19/4) propelled Liverpool to first place in the Premier League, which put additional pressure on Manchester City, who are one game down.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are now +2 ahead of the Citizens and were top of the table for the first time since October, while scoring nine goals in two games against Manchester United (0-5 in the first game, 4-0 in the second). was the first team to score a total of nine goals against the “red devils” in one season.
Liverpool goals aside, of course, the standout moment was when all of Anfield stood up to applaud and adore Ronaldo for standing by his side during these difficult hours he’s going through.
The game
Liverpool were the team that wanted the threesome to spend more to even spend one night first and put extra pressure on Manchester City and entered the driver’s position early on. The hosts quickly changed the pass, and Mane gave Salah a ‘no-look’ pass which from the height of the penalty put De Gea to make it 2-0 for Liverpool, with the Egyptian scoring the goal after the Reds had played seven.
In the 34th minute, Liverpool scored a third goal with Dias, but by the time Fambino’s pass passed, the home side’s winger was ruled offside and the goal was correctly cancelled.
Two goals in the second with Mane and Salah
The second half started with a move to Manchester United when Sancho came on in place of Jones in the 46th minute. The pace dropped in the opening minutes as Liverpool maintained strength and United sought the goal of the tie with no result.
The visitors had five minutes to try and score the goal that would put them back in the game, but they couldn’t.
On the contrary, Klopp’s side found two more goals by the end of the game. First, in the 68th minute, Robertson stole the ball, counterattacked, passed the left flank to Dias, who turned the ball to Mane, who made it 3-0 for Liverpool with a pitch.
The final 4:0 was formed in 85′ when Mohamed Salah received the ball in the penalty area, made the play, the ball was against Bissaka, causing it to change course and ending up in De Gea’s net.
