Anfield’s capacity expansion is expanding
Anfield Road’s capacity expansion project has been pushed back with Liverpool chief executive Billy Hogan saying the project will not be completed before the end of this year.
With the aim of expanding capacity at Anfield Road, Liverpool management had announced the completion of its renovation Street stall (Stood opposite the legendary Kop) by the start of the 2023/2024 season with the aim of increasing the team’s stadium from 53,394 to 61,000.
However, the delay by the construction company Buckingham Group, which carried out the project, combined with the three-week gap until the plan is completed, which is due to be handed over to the British company Rayner Rowen Construction, makes it difficult to complete the project before Christmas.
Liverpool’s CEO commented on the matter in a recent interview: Billy Hoganwho first thanked the team’s fans for their patience and understanding of the situation and then referred to the progress of the work.
“In recent days it has become clear that a thorough assessment of the timeline for completion of this project will take longer than initially anticipated. Ultimately, what this means for supporters is that we must maintain the status quo for the remainder of the calendar year until we can see all the necessary information.
Ultimately, this is a decision we made to give ourselves and external consultants and Rayner Rowen time to continue the project evaluation and ultimately finalize the project plan“.
Finally, he apologized to the team’s fans who had bought season tickets for the newly created seats and emphasized: “The Our team has identified these supporters and will be contacting them directly next week“.
