Sheikh Hashim withdraws from Manchester United’s takeover bid
According to Fabrizio Romano, Sheikh Hashim had held talks about buying 100% of Manchester United, but the Glazers said no.
On Saturday (October 14th) there were new developments regarding the ownership of Manchester United. Fabrizio Romano revealed that Sheikh Hashim, who had long had the upper hand, had further discussions with the Glazer family.
The Qatari sheikh’s goal was to acquire 100% of the Red Devils. Once again the Glazer family’s reaction was negative and they kept the club in their hands. The offering is said to be close to $7 billion, with an investment of $1.5 billion planned.
Romano reports that Hashim has therefore decided to withdraw from the Manchester United takeover process. Daily Sport’s Mike Keegan also confirmed that the Qatari sheikh had withdrawn his offer. It remains to be seen whether there will be further developments in the future.
