Martin Edgaard has not forgotten the decision he made two years ago to leave Madrid and Real Madrid for Arsenal. The current London captain emphasized that he had done absolutely the right thing for his career.

At the age of just 16, Martin Edgard made the big leap in his career that most of his colleagues dream of for a lifetime by moving to Real, but two years ago he decided to say goodbye to the Merengues.

The reason was to secure a transfer to Arsenal for €35 million following an agreement between the two clubs, with the Norwegian confirmed to have been one of Mikel Arteta’s best players and even the armband in the Londoners’ excellent season last year the Londoner received leaders.

“I had a good time in Madrid, it was a positive step, even if many people might see it differently. I learned a lot, matured a lot and had the opportunity to train with some of the best players in the world.”

But in the end the decision to leave was the best one for me, I wanted to compete more and continue to improve as a player.

I played with them and had fun. Maybe the opportunity came too quickly, but it was a great experience.”emphasized the Norwegian midfielder with his statements, adding meaningfully:

“I am happy with my decision and how it went. If I hadn’t gone to Real, I wouldn’t have reached the level I have here.”

“Real is the biggest club in the world and the pressure is palpable, even if it wasn’t as big as when Ronaldo and Beckham were there.”

It is noted that in the six years of his presence at Real (2015-2021), Edgard was loaned out to four teams (the last was Arsenal, who bought him via regular transfer), while he played eleven games with the Madrid jersey in all Competitions without a goal or assist.
