Hamilton and Serina Williams have provided the fund with 12 million euros to buy Chelsea
Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams are keen to buy shares in Chelsea as they have boosted a fund led by Martin Broughton, who has made a €12,000,000 bid to buy the Blues, according to Sky Sports.
Sir Martin Broughton is one of the candidates to buy Chelsea and according to Sky Sports his bid has been boosted by Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams as both have offered €12m to boost that fund.
It is recalled that Martin Broughton had previously served as Liverpool president, having openly declared that he is a Chelsea supporter, bailing them out of the team’s difficult financial situation at the beginning of the last decade and handing it over to the current management the “red”.
The commitment of the two athletes is surprising, especially on the part of Hamilton, who has his say as an Arsenal supporter, but both have long been in talks with the investors who support Broughton.
