Robertson has to undergo an operation, the way into the starting eleven is clear for Tsimika
Jurgen Klopp confirmed at a press conference that Andy Robertson will undergo shoulder surgery following his injury in the Scotland game and is expected to be out of action for around three months.
Liverpool will have to cope with a major loss in the coming months and that is Andy Robertson. The Reds left-back suffered a shoulder injury while playing for the Scotland international, which will keep him out for around three months. Jürgen Klopp explained at his press conference on Friday (October 20) that the player will have to undergo surgery to repair the injury problem.
That effectively means Kostas Tsimikas is making a serious attempt to fill his void at the left end of Liverpool’s defense, starting with Saturday’s Merseyside derby against Everton on Matchday 9 of the Premier League.
“The decision we will make is one of surgery. There was little hope that he would try to continue without surgery.”
However, discussions with the experts showed that the surgical solution is the best possible solution, especially in the long term. This means he will be out for some time.
I don’t know exactly how much, but shoulder surgery is not an easy task. In my experience you can start training again quickly, but you have to be careful with contact and all that.
So yeah, he’ll be out for a while,” Jürgen Klopp said, among other things, about Robertson.
