Chelsea 0-2 Brentford: The bees stung the Blues and overtook them in the standings
After Pinnock (58th minute) and Empeumo (90th + 6th) scored the goals, Sheffield United beat Chelsea 2-0 in the mini London derby and moved up to 11th in the table, leaving the Blues behind itself.
Brentford has found Chelsea’s… button in recent years and proved this emphatically on Saturday afternoon (October 28th) in the 10th round of the Premier League, when Thomas Frank’s team won 2-0 away against their compatriot and took the ball secured three points at Stamford Bridge for the third time in a row at league level.
With their second league win in a row, the Bees even moved past Chelsea in the table, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side reversing a three-game unbeaten run that saw them win two (excluding Fulham and Burnley) and a derby draw last week against Bring in Arsenal.
In the first half, Chelsea had the image of the (much) better team against Brentford, with possession (67%) and a double-digit number of finals (10 against just 2 of the visitors, with Madueke’s goal being the best part). but in the second case the situation changed.
In the 58th minute, Frank’s side took the lead with a header from Pinnock after Empeumo’s assist, only to find Bradford defending admirably and intercepting Chelsea, who had seven shots but put none on target.
The Blue fans’ disappointment was even greater in the final (the final whistle was met with loud boos from the stands) when Sanchez left his goal and advanced to a corner that his team had won, and the visitors punished him with the counterattack. , with Empeumos scoring in front of an unreliable home crowd to secure his team’s triumph in west London.
