United: Rangnik benches Maguire against Arsenal
Harry Maguire’s poor performance of late has been a major concern for Ralph Rangnick and he is likely to be left out of the squad for the crucial away game against Arsenal, according to a report from Atletic.
Manchester United are on their feet at all and are at risk of being left out of Premier League 4 teams and therefore the next Champions League, with the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield pointing to their demise.
This event caused excitement in their ranks and the game against Arsenal in the Emirates on Holy Saturday (April 23, 2:30 p.m., COSMOTE SPORT 1 HD and LIVE by Sportish) is seen by all as crucial in the final stretch of the championship, with Ralph Rangnik even up for ‘difficult’ decisions.
One of them is Harry Maguire staying on the bench, with Atletic mentioning in today’s post that the German coach decided not to have the captain in his basic formation in the match with the Londoners.
Behind this option is not only relegation, but also concern for the mental state of the player, who even reported to the police on Thursday that he had been threatened with a bomb threat in his house.
It should be noted that the 29-year-old England international has made 35 appearances with the United shirt in all competitions so far this season, while missing just five of those 33 league games.
