Keane shuts down Fernandes on the flank: “He doesn’t have what it takes to be a captain, he’s constantly complaining”
After United’s defeat to City in the Manchester derby, Roy Keane dropped Bruno Fernandes as centre-back, claiming he didn’t have what it took to be captain.
With another outstanding Erling Haaland, who scored two goals and provided an assist, Manchester City defeated Manchester United 3-0 and comfortably won the Manchester derby.
The experienced player of the “Red Devils” and Current commentator Roy Keane pointed the finger at team captain Bruno Fernandes, accusing him of whining and declaring he didn’t deserve to wear the armband.
“If I saw Fernandes again I would 100 per cent rule him out as captain,” Keane told Sky Sports, adding: “I know it’s a big decision, they also took the captaincy away from Maguire, but Fernandes doesn’t have what it takes to be a captain.
He’s undoubtedly a talented player, but from what I saw, his whining, moaning and constantly throwing his hands in the air.
It’s really not acceptable. From what I’ve seen, I’d take his armband off. You have to start somewhere. That’s why I would start with that because the coach is capable of it.
Fernandes is a brilliant footballer, but when it comes to qualities of a captain, he is the opposite of what I would want in a captain. completed.
