Tuhel: “I never feel safe in the Premier League”
Looking ahead to the final straight of the season, Thomas Tuchel wanted to ring the bell for his players and emphasized that the mistakes he saw his team made made him unsure whether the goal of the four was achieved.
Long-established at 3rd in the Premier League table, Chelsea have booked a ticket to the FA Cup final where they will face Liverpool on May 14, but Thomas Tuchel is still… worried.
That’s because the Blues have picked up just 26 points from the 15 games they’ve given up so far at Stamford Bridge in this year’s league, counting three straight losses at home with Germany warning that the exit in the Champions Laague should not be considered finished case.
“I worry about the number of mistakes. In 2022 we have already made eight big mistakes that have resulted in goals from our opponents. This is something unusual.
It costs us a lot. “Not just in the goals we concede, but also in our self-confidence and belief in what we’re doing,” the European champion with the Blues emphasized a useful addition in view of the London derby with West Ham:
“I never feel safe in the Premier League and nobody should be. When you feel safe, you are not alert and ready. Feeling safe is very close to being lazy.”
