Brentford 3-2 West Ham: Mavropanos’ own goal cost Olympiakos their next opponent

Dinos Mavropanos’ own goal helped West Ham to a 3-2 home defeat against Brentford before they face Olympiakos in the Europa League.

THE Dinosaur Mavropanos scored an own goal and West Ham lost 2-3 at his headquarters Bradford for the 11th matchday of the Premier League, a few days before the game against Olympiakos in the Europa League.

The game was full of twists and turns, with the home side opening the scoring in the 11th minute through Neil Maupe and the visitors leading the way before the half hour mark with Mohamed Qudous and Jarrod Bowen.

The “Hammers” didn’t capitalize on all the big moments they had in the first part and had to pay for it as the hosts dominated the second part. In fact, they equalized in the 55th minute thanks to the Greek stopper, who tried to clear from a corner kick and sent the ball into his team’s net.

Nathan Collins completed the turnaround for Brentford in the 69th minute as Brentford overtook West Ham for their third win in a row.
