Newcastle 1-0 Arsenal: Gordon shot even higher
Arsenal were the next major team to be eliminated ahead of Newcastle, who moved further up the Premier League table thanks to an Anthony Gordon goal.
First it was Manchester City, then Paris and a few weeks ago Manchester United. Newcastle’s biggest away opponent bowed to it, as did Arsenal 1:0 in the “St. James Park” on matchday 11 of the Premier League to move up the table even further.
The game was pretty bad and sparked further debate about the refereeing decisions. The hosts called for Kai Havertz and the visitors for Bruno Guimaraes in the first half, but the referee showed enough flexibility and was rewarded in both cases.
Even Gordon’s goal was controversial after David Raya’s error in the 64th minute led to the England striker firing the ball into the net, but the move was ruled invalid for offside, foul and offside before the celebrations began.
