Mikel Arteta had complaints from the referee in Arsenal’s game against Newcastle, insisting the Magpies’ goal should not have counted.

Anthony Gordon’s goal, which led to Arsenal’s defeat and another Newcastle win against big opponents, was heavily debated and doubted.

The goal was controversial after David Raya made a mistake in the 64th minute that saw the England striker shoot the ball into the net, with the situation ruled out for offside, foul and offside before the celebrations began.

After the end of the game, Mikel Artera was upset with the decision to count the goal at the end, stressing that it was a shame what happened.

“Please get help because it is a disgrace that this goal was conceded. It’s an absolute disgrace. It’s not a gate. For many reasons it is not a goal. At least for more reasons than one it’s not a goal.” the Spanish coach initially said, adding:

“It’s very difficult to compete at this level, a lot of effort goes into it and it’s an absolute disgrace. Once again I feel ashamed. I have been in this country for many years and what has happened is not up to the level that people say that this is the best league in the world.
