Bournemouth played their best game of the season and, led by Dominic Solanke, who scored two goals, they beat Newcastle 2-0 and moved three points clear of the relegation zone.

Newcastle enjoyed a superb 1-0 win over Arsenal last week, handing Mikel Arteta’s side their first defeat of the season, but it was followed by two big slaps for the Magpies.

During the week they lost 2-0 to Dortmund on matchday 4 of the Champions League in Westphalia, while on Saturday evening (11/11) they were defeated by the same result on matchday 12 of the Premier League at Bournemouth’s home stadium.

A big star for the winners was Dominic Solanke, who scored twice in less than a quarter (60′ 73′), with the final showing the Cherries excelling in most statistical categories (2.49-0.51 x goals , 19-8 finals, 10-5 at home) and are rightly celebrating their second win of the season and the second in the last three games.

The match

The first half at the ‘Vitali Stadium’ produced no goals, but there was one team that clearly looked like they were winning and that was Bournemouth, who had chances to score with Christie, Semenio, Solanke and Kluifert, against a Newcastle with whom Pope shone his interventions and who only had one attempt at home.

The hosts continued to have the upper hand and were soon rewarded when Solanke Pope dropped a powerful shot into the box in the 60th minute and scored the second goal in the 73rd minute with a shot from inside the box and another corner from the left and anabumboula.

The response from Newcastle never came, Eddie Howe’s men appeared powerless to respond and Anthony Iraola celebrated in the closing stages, while the game’s finale gave Bournemouth their biggest win of the season and strengthened their psychology in the fight to stay.
