Haaland: “I used to see Ronaldo on YouTube, he is the biggest inspiration for me”
Erling Haaland praised Cristiano Ronaldo in an interview. The Norwegian striker pointed to CR7’s great performances and admitted that he was a role model for him in terms of the way he put the ball into the net.
If Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were the best we have seen in football in the last 15 years, then there is no doubt that Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, who represent today’s tomorrow in the world’s most popular sport, are two of the most stubborn executioners ever appeared on the field.
Of course, the influence of eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi, as well as five-time winner of the award Ronaldo, was great and this was clear from the words of Haaland in his television interview: Manchester City’s Norwegian striker admitted that the CR7 was a source of inspiration for him through his movements in the opponent’s area.
“If I watched Cristiano Ronaldo on YouTube? Yes, he is the most important inspiration for me, especially in the opposing area.”
The way he was able to develop his game, as a winger at Manchester United and in his early years at Real and later as a centre-forward, is amazing.” said Haaland, who counts the astonishing tally of 69 goals in 71 games in all competitions since he first wore the Citizens jersey.
