Manchester City have only won at home in 2023 (23 in total), but Liverpool showed character in the big derby of the 13th game of the Premier League, as if they were behind to Erling Haaland’s goal in the first half, the final with They were able to secure the point thanks to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s goal in the 80th minute.

The 1-1 draw undoubtedly made the Reds happier. Jürgen Klopp argued that they should accept the point as a success, but stressed that with a better game they could also take the three points.

If we had played well we could have won, but we didn’t manage to do that. We played OK. We caused them problems too, but we didn’t take advantage of our good moments in the first half.

At half-time I said to the boys: “Imagine if we played well, what we would do. At the moment I’m happy with the point and we have to consider it a win.”emphasized the German coach and added:

“Trent made the difference tonight. Unfortunately we lost Zota due to injury and we will see what happens with Allison who was hit just before the final.”
