Guardiola: “People like Postecoglou make football a better place”
Pep Guardiola has urged City fans to take to the pitch for fun against Tottenham as he praised Angelo Postecoglou and stressed he has already left his mark at Spurs.
After the games against Liverpool (1:1) and Leipzig (3:2), Manchester City is preparing for the third home game in a row in all competitions on Sunday afternoon (March 12th, 6:30 p.m., Novasports Premier League, LIVE Sportish) against Tottenham on matchday 14 of the Premier League.
There, victory is the only way for Pep Guardiola’s side as they are no longer in first place and are looking to knock Arsenal off the top spot. However, the Catalan coach acknowledges the difficulties of the game and stands by the excellent work of Angelos Postecoglou in what the Londoners have done so far.
“In a short space of time he made his presence known, even in the last few games where they didn’t win. I’m impressed by how well they do some things and the opportunities they create.”
They play aggressively in all areas of the field. You recognize your team perfectly. Every team plays according to their coach’s wishes, they did that in Japan, in Glasgow with Celtic and here.
People like Angelos make football a better place. I really like the way they approach their games. All Tottenham fans can admit that he has an immediate impact on his team.emphasized Guardiola, who, when asked whether the Big-6 of the Premier League had now become the Big-8, said:
“Every season that goes by it becomes more and more difficult to win the Premier League. More and more teams are fighting for the cup and every game is difficult. Since I came here and Mauricio Pochettino was at Tottenham, the spurs have always been there.”
They are a fantastic team, they have important losses, but I saw they had chances in the game against Aston Villa too, they have a really good approach to football.”
Guardiola also wanted to urge Manchester City fans to be at the Etihad for the game against Tottenham, saying “we will have fun”, while pointing out that he will be playing against him for the first time without Harry Kane. he was clear:
“I used to call it Harry Kane’s team and I don’t want to make the same mistake now by calling it Sean’s team…”
