Guardiola: “I learned from Cruyff that there is no misfortune in football”
Pep Guardiola stressed that there is no such thing as bad luck in football and that the chances his team missed played a role in the draw against Tottenham.
Manchester City rolled over and took the lead twice in the game, but Tottenham showed character and a goal from Kulusevski in the 90th minute saw them hold on at the Etihad and earn a 3-3 draw against the English and European champions.
Among other things, Pep Guardiola emphasized after the final of the game that luck is never responsible for the result, referring to Johan Cruyff while commenting on the reaction of Erling Haaland and the rest of his players to Simon Hooper’s whistle and the Decision expressed he managed it at 90+4′.
“We don’t take many chances. We lost against Wolves after two shots on goal, something similar happened to Liverpool.”
We have to learn and watch the game. I learned from Johan Cruyff that there is no bad luck in football. I don’t think the team is any different from previous seasons. She’s still the same to me,” he said, then referring to Holland’s reaction:
“It was normal. His reaction was the same as 10 other players. The rules say you can’t talk to the referees or quarter referees, so 10 players should have been sent off. I’m a little disappointed.
Even the referee, if he were playing for Manchester City, would be disappointed with this decision, that’s for sure.
