Guardiola: “If we play like Liverpool and Tottenham, we will be English champions again”
Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City can stage a comeback in England and retake the Premier League, saying his side must continue to play at the level they did against Liverpool and Tottenham.
Manchester City are winless in their last two Premier League derbies, drawing 1-1 with Liverpool at the Etihad and drawing 3-3 with Tottenham.
In the last big game against the Londoners, the Citizens had victory in their hands, but Kulusevski saved the game for Tottenham in the 90th minute.
Pep Guardiola is satisfied with the level of his players in these two games and emphasized in the press conference on Tuesday (May 12) before the game against Aston Villa that his team will become English champions again if they continue like this.
“If you ask me today, I have a feeling we will win the Premier League. If we play at the level we showed against Liverpool and Tottenham, we will do it again with the knowledge Naturally that it’s not easy,” said the Spanish technician, among others.
