Manchester United want Calvin Phillips to leave City in January
According to the Sun, Manchester United have put Manchester City defensive midfielder Calvin Phillips at the top of their January transfer list.
Calvin Phillips was signed from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, with Leeds saving €49 million. The 28-year-old, who has signed a contract until 2028, will not stay with the Citizens and is not one of Pep Guardiola’s main options.
In fact, according to the Sun, the Englishman is a winter transfer target for Manchester United, who have put him at the top of their list.
This season the Phillips He only counts eight appearances for the Citizens and has played a total of 215 minutes, while he was only a starter in two of the eight games.
However, the Englishman himself wants to move to a team that plays more with a view to the upcoming Euro 2024 in the summer, having lost his starting place despite Gareth Southgate’s appointment.
