Guardiola: “Haaland has no break, we hope he makes it to the Club World Cup”
Pep Guardiola expressed confidence over Erling Haaland’s injury which ruled him out of the Luton game and expressed optimism that he will be available for the Club World Cup.
The game at Luton’s home stadium on matchday 16 of the Premier League was no easy task for Manchester City, who even had to make do without the injured Erling Haaland, as the English champions were behind at the end of the first half and in need of goals Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish in the second half caused a surprise.
However, the good news for the Citizens’ Friends came not only with the achievement of the three points that ended their team’s negative streak of four games without a win in the championship, but also with the statements made by Pep Guardiola immediately after he discussed the health situation of Erling Holland had dealt with.
“It’s not a fracture, just a strain in the bone. We hope he is ready for the league game against Crystal Palace (16/12), otherwise we hope he makes it to the Club World Cup.”
The day after the Aston Villa game he couldn’t walk normally, on Saturday I spoke to him and he said: “I’m feeling much better, I can walk, it doesn’t hurt.”
That’s why we’ll see every day what his situation will be.”emphasized the Catalan coach, who said when asked about Doku’s injury:
“It’s a muscle injury, it’s not a big problem like Kevin (de Bruyne) but we have to think about his outbreak and be careful. Maybe he’ll be ready again in a week or two.”
