New Anfield stand opens with record attendance for United game
Liverpool have been given the green light to open part of Anfield’s new stand and the derby against Manchester United (17/12) will attract a record crowd of 57,000.
Liverpool are preparing for the derby with Manchester United (17/12) to set a new attendance record at Anfield as part of the new stand opens for the first time.
The club has received all necessary permissions and 57,000 Reds fans are expected to be at Anfield, a record number in the history of Jurgen Klopp’s club.
We remind you that the Reds management initially announced the completion of the reconstruction with the aim of expanding the capacity at Anfield Street stall (Stood opposite the legendary Kop) by the start of the 2023/2024 season with the aim of expanding the team’s stadium from 53,394 to 61,000.
However, delays from the construction company Buckingham Group, which carried out the project, as well as a three-week delay in the final handover of the design to the British company Rayner Rowen Construction, made it difficult to complete the project early for Christmas.
That’s why not the entire stand, but part of it, will be opened.
