Lopetegui has the first word when Ten Haag sees Manchester United’s exit door
Erik ten Hach’s back is against the wall after Manchester United’s back-to-back home defeats against Bournemouth and Bayern and, according to a Spanish media, Julen Lopetegui is a leading candidate to take his place.
Manchester United have had to endure several competitive crises during the time that Erik ten Hach has been on the bench, but at the moment the Dutch coach appears to be on the ropes and unable to extricate himself from them.
This is because after the 3-0 home defeat against Bournemouth (first win in history at “Old Trafford”) of the Premier League, the defeat against Bayern (0-1) followed a few 24 hours later, with the Devils being shown a red card Not only do they stay out of the Champions League, they also slip to last place and say goodbye to Europe prematurely.
In fact, the fact that United have reached the point of facing each other next Sunday (17/120 against leaders Liverpool, 10 points behind them in the standings) puts the Dutchman in a very awkward position, with a report from Spain saying, that this is Julen Lopetegui is at the top of the list of candidates for his successor.
The reason for this is a publication by the Spanish website “Relevo”, which states that the 57-year-old coach recently rejected an offer of 18 million euros per year to take over a team in Saudi Arabia with a return to the Premier League Back of head.
It is recalled that last August Lopetegui left Wolves after nine months at the helm and received a large compensation. The report states that the English club’s managers value him highly and that he now has a good chance of succeeding Ten Haag. to become the sixth permanent manager following Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure from the bench in the summer of 2013.
