Carragher trolls Neville by recalling Liverpool’s 7-0 record against Manchester United
The countdown to the start of the Liverpool v Manchester United game began with Jamie Carragher taking on Gary Neville on Sky Sports, with the former commemorating his 7-0 record in a… collector’s jersey.
Liverpool welcomes Manchester United on Sunday evening (December 17th, 6:30 p.m., Novasports Premier League, LIVE from Sportish) for matchday 17 of the Premier League in the mother of battles in England, in a game in which the Reds want the three points to remain alone at the top of the table, leaving them 13 points behind their eternal rivals.
The peculiarity of this game lies in the fact that it is the first that Klopp and Ten Hagh’s side face each other in the same stadium since the historic 7-0 win over the Reds last March, with Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville putting it on into the equation on Friday evening.
The two Sky Sports commentators were at the City Ground for the Nottingham vs Tottenham (0-2) game and didn’t miss the opportunity to get people in the mood for the big derby with the experienced Liverpool full-back wearing a T-shirt from last year’s game and the following words:
“I wish I could live that every day… When the Kop starts singing, the Renches start playing.” For his part, veteran United defender Gary Neville took the glove and returned it with the reason “Arrogance is the sure path to failure” Carragher dismissed the accusation of arrogance, spoke of self-confidence and emphasized that Manchester United’s players will never forget the 7-0 win.
