Cooper: “We have to stick together, our fans saw Nottingham give everything”
Steve Cooper admitted after the defeat to Tottenham that he had become the subject of intense rumors encouraging him to leave the Nottingham bench and urged the team and people to stick together to continue progress.
Nottingham were competitive against Tottenham (1.35-1.57 x goals, 15-12 finals, 1-6 at home), but were unable to pull out of the game with which they opened the program of the 17th game of the Premier League on Friday evening. nothing to take away , with a 2-0 win for the Londoners thanks to goals from Rysarlison and Kulusewski, which meant the Reds’ third home defeat in a row.
Furthermore, with just one win in their last 13 games, they are just five points above the danger zone and essentially a game more, with Steve Cooper admitting in the press conference that he is aware of the scenarios that take him to the exit but is questioning at the same time unity within the group.
“This job means everything to me, it always has. I wish things were different for us as far as results go. I know that people are talking about me. I wish it wasn’t about that and we talked more about the grades and the wins my team would win.
We are a very tight-knit club at the moment and have to stick together. Whatever role everyone plays here, we must remain united because all the progress we have made is based on unity.” emphasized the 44-year-old coach, who did not fail to thank the fans who chanted his name both during the game and at the final whistle.
“The fans were great tonight. I think they saw a team that gave everything. But it’s not enough to give everything, you also have to show quality and not allow stupid goals, which is what we did.”
We had moments in the big area where we could have shown more quality. We are not good in the final passage and finishing.
I can’t complain from the boys about their commitment to the team, the overall performance was good but we’re not taking advantage of our moments and that’s something we need to improve on.”
