Good news for Lockyer: He regained consciousness and was taken to hospital
Tom Lockyer, who collapsed on the pitch in the 60th minute of the game against Bournemouth, has been taken to hospital and is still conscious, according to a new update from Luton.
Luton have issued a statement on the condition of Tom Lockyer after he collapsed on the pitch during the game against Bournemouth. He was taken to the hospital, reacted to the environment and was conscious.
“We all hope and pray for our captain Tom Lockyer who thankfully responded and was taken to hospital.
We don’t know exactly what happened at this stage and what the next steps are, but we would like to thank Bournemouth and the medical staff from both teams for their immediate response, which was absolutely amazing.”
We apologize to all fans in attendance that the players of both teams were not in the mood to continue the game after witnessing the collapse of their beloved teammate and friend and that the staff were unable to continue the game due to the situation.
Thank you all for the wonderful applause and chanting of Locke’s name in the stadium at such a difficult time.
Now is the time for all of our players, staff and fans to come together, as we always do, and show our love and support to Tom and his family.
Our thoughts are with him and everyone.”
