Klopp: “We didn’t even have such a dominant performance against United in the 7-0 win”

Jurgen Klopp said he was pleased overall with the performance of Liverpool’s players despite their 0-0 draw at home to United, stressing that they were more dominant than in the 7-0 win against the same opponents last year.

Liverpool played 34 finals in the big derby with Manchester United, but the ball did not go into the net despite being superior for the longest time, which meant that the eternal rivals remained 0-0 and Arsenal conceded the top spot.

However, Jürgen Klopp was not discouraged by the drop in points, which prevented the Reds from staying at the top for the second matchday in a row. The German claimed his side were even more dominant against United than they were in their 7-0 win on the same pitch last year.

“Some good things I took away from the game, one thing I didn’t like was the result. We should have scored, we had enough chances.”

We could have had more, but in some cases we were in a rush. I liked the tension and everyone could see that we really wanted to win.

I think the boys played a really good game. If we had scored, everything would have been great. explained the German, adding meaningfully:

“I can’t remember such a dominant performance against United, even when the score was 7-0 our opponents were more in the game.”

It should be noted that since the start of the 2016/17 season, only two teams have played 34 or more Premier League finals and failed to score: Manchester United against Burnley in 2016 (38 finals) and Liverpool against the Red Devils on Sunday night (34).
